Days 324 & 325 (Mon 6/10/13 &Tue 6/11/13)- The Outer Banks, NC

On Monday we spent the day getting caught up on research (which proved to be futile when the computer shut down and deleted everything) and watched the creepy movie Mama. No where near comparable with Jessica Chastain's work in Zero Dark Thirty but it was at least decent for a horror flick.

Tuesday was a much busier day. Having no choice but to do the entire Outer Banks in a day we first drove along the National Shore stopping at Fish and Wildlife to hear a talk on sea turtles. Here we learned that only 1 in a 1000 baby turtles make it to sea and that a mother turtle can lay more than 100 eggs at a time. Our lecturer was very sweet, talking with us following the talk and giving us recommendations which we had hoped to follow but weren't able to.

Having just under an hour at Kitty Hawk we hurried to take in all we could. This meant seeing the exhibits at a break neck pace and just partially climbing the hill where the Kitty Hawk flyer was launched.

Ending the evening at a nearby beach we got to see lifeguards surfing the waves which were powerful, evidenced by us both getting knocked over by them as we turned to leave.
