Days 330 & 331 (Sun 6/16/13 & Mon 6/17/13)- Charlotte, NC

Having little of note on Isaiah's birthday was depressing especially considering that the highlight might have been an expensive meal at McDonald's. Thankfully the whole day wasn't a waste as it did start at the Charlotte Museum of Art which had many Rodin statues and though not our favorite museum certainly beats out McDonald's.

The next day we began at Hendricks Motors, home to many Nascar greats including my distant relative Terry La Bonte. Here we saw a tribute car made for Terry's 2006 retirement, paying homage to his 22 wins and 182 finishes in the top five. We also saw other memorabilia from racers not related to me.

At the Billy Graham Library (spoiler alert: not a library) we had the weirdest experience with evangelists yet being ministered to by an animatronic cow. Touring the visitor's center we were thus herded like the fore mentioned cow into room after room watching videos on the life of America's greatest TV preacher. We also got to tour Billy's childhood home and have a very awkward moment when we did not make a donation to receive the "free" (in exchange for your soul) tote bag.

Overall it was worth stopping but did not seem like very effective outreach since most visitors are already converts and those that aren't would be considered "strong willed."
